She raised her head as the Drakkin came back down the stairs, flashing him a breif smile though his words still had her a little shaken. She then looked back down at the fish in front of her and grimaced slightly. Gutting had never been her favourite job and was one of the reasons she was not a cook. Nor a housewife, no matter how hard she tried, she always made a mess. She eyed the other knife next to it and lay down the filleting knife that she held, pinking up instead the heavier knife that was more like a cleaver. With a smirk she brought the knife down quickly, severing its head and handed the body to Stormfollower. He could do the gutting and she'd cut the heads off.

The conjurer took a chair near the process, watching with the detached intrest common within those observing tasks they are glad to not be doing themselves. He frowned for a moment and returned the druid's smile and then nodded to Stormfollower. "Sunrise Storm," Alsurin leaned closer and furrowed his brow, "what kind are these?" As he spoke, his fingers moved in the small, broken patterns that commonly found use within less scrupulous circles.

~Forgiveness, ..words half-meant...take not to heart.~

"Tortha should be back any moment," he said, running now still hands over the tabletop, "though I fear in most cultures his catch is somewhat less edible."

"Ah, Sunrise Alsurin! A million bright embasadors of morning to thee!"
Stormfollower smiled up at Alsurin as he disembowelled the long fish with expert precicion.
"These be salmon."
Except for the crushed collars of the fish Jetamio butchered, not a drop of blood spotted the rich pink meat of the fish. Taking the knife to the sides of the fish Stormfollower first bisected then de finned the fish he was working on.
He winced slightly as the next head popped off at the chop of Jetamios knife strike, again crushing the preciouse collar meat of the fish.
Lopping off the tail he placed the two large slabs of fresh fish meat to lie in the same direction. one side still held onto its spine and from the other protruded many small prongs of rib bones. Stormfollower took the bac of his thin knife and removed the spine with most of the ribs from one side of the fillet. Quickening his pace as Jetamio reached for the next fish in line he asked her pleasantly.
"Oh! Wouldst thow mind getting a big pot of warm water to me for the brine Jetamio?"

The Human walked into the room with an elderly Half-Dal female, Linella and Sineliniel.

"Greetings my friends! Gilliadson bellowed. "Allow me to introduce you to my Grandmother, Lady Verlaine Shadowbane. She is a member of the Circle of the Nine. Please Grandmother, wait here, I need to fetch my sword from my room." Gilliadson left the room and went upstairs. A few minutes, later Gilliadson came downstairs without his blade. Gilliadson looked the room over and, seeing that no new additions arrived, announced quietly. "Friends, there is evil here in Surefall Glade. Please come with me quickly." Gilliadson rushed back up the stairs to his room, followed by Verlaine and Linella.

The Koada`Dal's usual sweet smile faded as the words came out of her beloved's mouth. Sineliniel quickly followed Gilliadson, the Halfling and the Half-Dal Druidess to the Knight's room.

The conjurer watched the companion's seemingly erratic migrations with a puzzled expression.

"Don't leave much work for the glade guardians do they?"

Alsurin shifted his attention back to the fish and grimaced, caught within the suspicions inherited from a land-bound civilization.

"Salmon? Do they not have parasites?"

Stormfollower covered the half perpared fish with a large damp towel.
"Nay!" He said with suprise "Only thing that shall feed apon these fish is family and friends." He quickly washed his hands in the clean water bowl near by. "I hope thow darest not call any of them names." feigning annoyance he winked at Alsurin before heading after the Paladin, keen to hear what peril may lay in thier path.

She could not help but like Tortha, no matter what her original plans had been. He was so fun and carefree, full of mischeif and a sense of adventure. Not so much unlike her in truth, only their ideas of fun could hardly be more different. She wasn't attracted to him, though she could see that he was certainly very interested in her. She was glad she had not told anyone else of her plan, not even Tajer. By not doing so it meant she could pull out at any time and not lose face.

After the encounter inside, the youth had led her outside to the pool, filling up his flask with the clear water and telling her about this place as he did. She looked around, again admiring the tall pine trees, and she actually quite liked the scent of them. Why did the others think this place was so bad? Although she knew that Tajer secretly enjoyed the sun and the outdoors, or at least had used to. But then, she did have druidic blood flowing through her veins.
She looked up at the blood red sky and tried to imagine it blue. The sky was really blue they had told her, not red. She found it hard to believe had she not seen pictures. Kalsari had never seen the sky blue. Was the sun not supposed to hurt her? Or at least discomfort her? Why did she fee...

"Ha!"

Tortha's shout brought her right back to here and now. He was grinning, his gold eyes flashing with mirth at some idea involving the small crab he now held in his hand. She felt it had something to do with that Drakkin and was again inwardly surprised at this slowly growing ability.
"Its not mind reading chylde, but Empathy, the ability to sense the emotions of those around you. Even glean ideas from those you spend enough time with." the Priestess had told her. "So how does Vendayvian read minds?" she asked. "He doesn't, he gleans them from the blood memories when he drinks." "Oh." She would have to try that one someday.
She blinked to clear the memory and found Tortha looking at her. "Yes, I'm fine." She flashed a smile at him, felt his heart melt for her dazzled by her smile. Strange how beauty could have such an effect. She did not even need to use her sanguine charm. She didn't think she would do so now anyway. She was growing more and more reluctant to carry out her plan. Tortha smiled back at her, obviously accepting her answer.
With the crab safely in one hand, he took 'Cara's' hand in the other and headed back towards the hall.

The Teir`Dal maiden lay on the top of a hill overlooking the entrance to Surefall Glade. She had been following this particular Sanguine for some time. D`Nar kept the spyglass to her eye, she saw the Sanguine enter the glade with a male companion who she figured was probably either the Sanguine's next meal or her next target. That mattered not to the huntress all that mattered was that this particular Sanguine had ties to at least one Sanguine Ilharn and that was what D`Nar was after.

She had filled the pot as requested, but now stood still halfway between the sink and the tabletop Storm was at. The pot was still in her hands, but she was staring outside, still as a statue, not even blinking. Something wasn't right, the trees, the land even seemed to lay in wait. Even Tortha and Cara bounding through the door laughing didn't break the strange feeling. If anything, it intensified it.
She slowly moved again, placing the pot on the table and walking to the door, staring out.
A soft wind seemed to gather around her, playing with strands of her fiery hair before disappating to wherever she asked it to go. The druid frowned, her voice a whisper on the wind.

"What is it?"

Once all were assembled, Gilliadson held up his sword, which was glowing rather faintly.

“This blade glows when there is something undead nearby.” Started the Human Knight. “Whatever it is, it is not too far away. The closer it is to this blade, the brighter the glow. It is within the Glade. Grandmother, if you would alert the Circle quietly, we can try to locate the creature. There is no need to call an alarm out. If it is foolish enough to enter this sanctuary then surely we should not have much trouble finding it. I would guess that it would have to be something that appears natural, otherwise the guardians at the entrance would have slain it on sight.”

The blade started glowing brighter.

"It is moving closer."

Lady Verlaine opened a portal and she stepped through it taking the young Halfling with her.

Gilliadson grabbed his armor and quickly put it on over his clothing.

"I will meet you all in the main room."

The knight grabbed his shield and prayer book and memorized a few prayers.

The Ghoulbane glowed even brighter. Whatever the creature was, it was still moving toward the house. Gilliadson quickly ran down to the main room to be greeted by the fiery kiss of his beloved.

"It is moving closer." The words sent a chill through the Koada`Dal's spine. The Elementalist quickly went to her room and put on her Elementalists robe and gathered her magical items and spellbook. Sineliniel quickly memorized a few spells and called Fluffy to her before returning to the main room downstairs. Whatever it was, she was going to be as ready for it as she could be. When Giliadson arrived in the main room Sineliniel kissed him quickly and he was engulfed in her fiery shield.
Sineliniel cast a few more spells to enhance her companion.

"We must hurry! Tortha is out there and his young friend!" Stormfollower spoke hurriedly and strode towards the door. "We all know the only type of undead capable of entering unchecked into the glade." Scowling he looks back at the gathering. " They have gone too far this time..Let us dole out the law of our convictions. Justly proportioning to the fault the punishment it deserves. Show no weak mercy to these craven dogs this time. Cause and consequence must become inseperable and inevitable. Just yet terrible! " He flings open the door and launches himself through it.

The tension in the air gave the drakkin an unpleasant impression of tasting hot lead. While not particularly martial, Alsurin had long ago developed a well tuned sense of self-preservation. It was quite likely the only reason he still lived, given the astonishing amount of rather excitable sword-wielding folk in the world. The ability to call down fire was also a slight notch in his favor.

He scowled, drumming restless fingers on the tabletop. Of course some sort of attack would come when his workings were at their most delicate! Then again, it would probably worry him even more if such a circumstance did not occur. Fate was a perverse woman and any change in her usual repertoire of whims made the conjurer more nervous then any monstrosity that could possibly be approaching.

"Protect the boy......."

"Yes, blasted ashes.. I know," Alsurin whispered vehemently under his breath. "Just leave me be for a rotted moment."

Still, the old fool was right, the boy was the key... his key.

Rathe smother him if the powers themselves were not in conspiracy! The mage sprinted after the shaman, a word of power bringing mana singing through body.

Gilliadson started to follow Stormfollower and Alsurin.

"Hold up!" Called the Knight!
