Firiona Vie Everquest

Welcome to Candles in the Darkness!

We are an association of players who roleplay good-aligned characters on the Firiona Vie Everquest server.

Who can join: The characters must be "good" in the Everquest definition - which we mean to be able to walk into a temple of a good diety and not get attacked - or holding common interests.

The channel: Players are welcome to join the chat channel candleinthedarkness and converse and interact in-character. Similar (but opposed to) thedarkcitadel. Edit: Channel is now candlealliance and has a password, due to sabotage of the old channel. Send a /tell or join the forums as a member to receive the password.

The rules: There aren't many as yet and we hope not to need many. Essentially the guidelines are to: Act mature, stay in character, and play nice. It's expected that as mature roleplayers we are self-governing, but outrageous behaviour will not be tolerated (similar to the EQ playing guidelines). More to follow on this.

Our people and their friends: Our membership crosses multiple guilds. In addition, we welcome interaction with our dear enemies in evil RP guilds such as Qu`Ellar Kultar, and Infernal Dynasty. Conflict is a keystone to story development.

The forums: These are to allow story posting, ooc interactions, etc. All are free to participate as noted. These are still under development and we will add more closed settings as may be required for adult roleplay. It should be noted that these forums have been provided for our use in generosity (meaning it's free and there are no ads) so please be respectful of the server.[/b]

From an RP perspective, the Candle Alliance has no guild hall, no fortress, no guards and no servants (unlike our foes in the Dark Citadel, or Qu'Ellar Kultar). This prevents us from being located and attacked. Instead different members meet irregularly at various locations in Norrath to coordinate local strategies in pursuit of common goals. Some members of the Alliance have arranged for various "safe houses".

The Alliance communicates with our members and allies either via direct contact with one of its agents (i.e. a player character) or via messages delivered by the League of Antonican Bards to one if its members. The Alliance also makes use of predetermined, hidden or anonymous locations to leave messages. In these, magical precautions are used to determine who leaves a message, and whether it is safe to retrieve them.
