A Paladin’s First Visit to the New Freeport

I had missed Extreme Makeover: Freeport Edition so I had to go check out what they did to my home city myself… I took the portal from New Tanaan… Upon arrival I was awestruck at the new look of the city… “Cool,” I said, “I have just got to see the new Hall of Truth and the New Temple.” I remembered that the Militia Guards really didn’t like me much. So much bad blood over that D`Lere incident. But hey… The dude had to go down, that’s just all there is to it. Well I pulled out a cloudy potion and drank it, thinking well. It should last at least long enough for me to get passed the gate guards. After all I was here on a peaceful mission this time and just did not feel like fighting. I walked into the city and looked around. I saw Boomba still there selling his not so appetizing snacks. Then I saw them. “What in the name of Marr?” Militia Patrol and quite strong looking too. I checked my invisibility and so far so good so I pulled out my map so I could find my way to the Hall of Truth. I got my bearings and noted the path I needed to take when all of a sudden I hear.
“You are not welcome here!” They hit me three times before I was able to gather myself and run. Ouch they hit hard. I remembered my path to the hall of truth and headed that way. I turned a corner and saw a Knight Patrol and thought.
“Good these guys will take care of the ones that are chasing me.” Oh no… these guys could not be troubled to assist one of their own… I ran by them and the commander hollered…
“Hey Gill! How’s it hanging?”
Oh well so I figured hey… new guys along with the new Militia they probably would not attack them… Maybe some of my old friends here would help. So I doubled back and ran through the Militia Patrol and took a couple more hits. Now I was starting to feel really unhealthy. I ran to the Hall of Truth and the two Paladins at the door waved as I went in. They didn’t even open the door for me! Nor did they jump on the Militia Patrol that was still on my tail. I ran into the hall and passed by Valeron Dushire…
“Hey Gill! How’s it hangin’?” he said as I ran by.
I ran down the stairs and took some turns and some more stairs and found… A dead end! I turned around and used my Lay of Hands. I felt a lot better but I knew the Militia was gonna take care of that for me. I ran back the way I came and back through the Militia again. Still no Knights of Truth jumping on them… One of them hit me so hard it stunned me for a moment, during which time they hit me some more. I came back to myself and took off again. I passed by old Valeron again…
“A little to the left Val!” I shouted as I ran by him and back to the courtyard.
When I got to the courtyard I decided to see where the nearest safe place would be for me to run to. Ahh East Freeport! I know I can lose them there. Just then three more hits and I was definitely in bad shape. I activated my Fabled Jboots and ran toward East Freeport. I made it there and lost them though I was almost dead.
