Welcome! :D

Yes, British Columbia is definitely a beautiful province. The nice thing about such a large country is that there is so much to see.

Yes We are in one of those rare micro-climates here on the Southern Gulf Islands, seams like we get the full effects of the pineapple express winds combined with the shelter of Vancouver islands mountains, much of the rain drops on them then stops before it gets to Vancouver to drop on them again, completely missing us in the process. We usually dont get much snow maybe one week of it in January and even then only an inch if that, and it never stays long...though we did get a good one a few years back, made an igloo with the kids and it stayed for a few days.
One big problem though...No Pizza joints unless you take the ferry to Victoria or Vancouver!!!!!!!!!!!!

So...this 'chinook' is awesome. In Europe we call it the foehn winds I think, but I never seen it in action because Britain has a constant chinook so the weather is always the same...anyway.

Two days ago, it was -20C, everything was frozen solid.

Then I wake up yesterday and it's really windy... water starts pouring off my roof as all the snow starts melting. The bucket of ice that has been there all winter is suddenly liquid again. Like not even an ice cube in it. Some twit had the irrigation system set to auto start on March first...the pipe burst and now we have a lake in our back garden.
The real lake starts to show small grey patches where water is forming under the snow...

Then today, I get up and the lake is more water than ice. I can stand on my front porch in my pyjamas and bare feet and its pleasant.

Maybe the lake will be melted tomorrow! I watched it freeze solid in a day in a half, I wouldnt be surprised to see it melt in the same time.

It's like 1st March came and someone up there decided it's going to be Spring now! 30 degrees difference in one night, thats just...mindboggling to me lol.
