Firiona Vie Everquest

The lone Dragon circles high above Gill-Alani, the home of the Shadowbanes, until the Dragon's rider signals for the descent. Silently they drop from the sky at almost a freefall rate until they are a few hundred feet from the ground. The Dragon rears back and extends her wings to rapidly slow their descent until they come to a stop and hover mere inches above the grassy field outside the estate. The rider quickly unbuckles his harness and dropps to the ground next to the Gold Dragon.

"Wait here my friend." The Northman Warrior pats the dragon on the side of her head as he speaks. "I will return shortly."

Several Knights in crimson and silver ride toward the pair as the Northman walks toward the estate.

"Hold your position stranger!" Commanded one of the knights as he reigned his mount to a halt in front of the Northman. "State your name and your business here!"

The Northman looked the knghts over before answering.

"I am Baldemar of the Northlands and I come to seek an audience with Mistress Lillyth Shadowbane and her parents."

"Very well, you may come with us."

The guards led Baldemar to the estate. Lillyth was at the gate when they arrived and she jumpled into Baldemar's arms, throwing her arms around his neck and kissed him.

"I did not expect to see you here so soon, my love." Said the young Elementalist. "I told mother and Father about you and they are eager to meet you." Lillyth turned to the knights. "I will take him from here."

"As you wish Mistress." Replied the Knight Captain.

Lillyth took one of Baldemar's massive hands in hers and led him to the Manor House.

The young couple went to the Fireplace Room where Gilliadson and Sineliniel were awaiting them.

"Father, Mother, I would like to introduce you to Lord Baldemar." Said the young Elementalist.

"It is an honor to finally meet the two of you." Said the Northman as he bowed respectfully to the elder Shadowbanes.

"We have heard much about you, Lord Baldemar." Said Gilliadson as he nodded. "I take it that you have come to seek our daughter's hand."

"I have, Sir Shadowbane. She has not only won my heart but also the hearts of my people and Mif`Nexx."

"Mif`Nexx... That would be the Dragon that allows you to ride her?" Asked Sineliniel.

"Indeed M'Lady." Replied the Northern Warrior. "I rescued her egg from The Nest as the Curse was released upon it. I took the egg to my realm and guarded it until she hatched. I gave her the name Mif`Nexx and we have been friends since."

"Fascinating. You know as an Elementalist and a mother I do have concerns."

"Lillyth will be well protected and loved for as long as she shall live. She will be treated like a queen by my people.

"I would like to come visit with you in your realm, Lord Baldemar, before I make my decision in this matter. My daughter feels strongly for you which is much in your favor." Said the Knight.

"My realm is not on any of your maps but I will mark it for you on one."

"That is well. For now, Pnala will take you to a guest room so you can rest. Mif`Nexx is welcome to stay on the grounds if she likes. I am sure we can provide her some shelter from the elements and whatever else she needs for her comfort. The Commonlands is very good for hunting. I am sure she will have no trouble finding food. We will depart three days hence."

"That is well with me."

Gilliadson sent for a young Half-Elf to escort the Northman to a guest room.
