A lone Teir`Dal Lady rides across the Plain of Karana on a dark steed leaving a trail of small flames on the ground where her mounts hoves land. As she approaches her destination, she pulls a small talisman from a pocket of her cloak and pins it to her cloak. The Lady halts her mount when she sees who she came to see. She had been coming to this place since she had planted the seedling, watching it grow, fending off any enemies that tried to take it down and treating any wounds that she found to the best of her ability. Instincts and feelings had arisen in the Lady Knight that she would never have otherwise grown. She now wanted to be a mother. She had talked to her Matron about that aspect.

"When you give birth to a daughter, I will step down as Matron of House Vel`Dynn and you will become the new Matron." Said the Elder Lady Knight. "I will take my rightful place as Queen Christanos' personal guard."

Lady D`Narr's mind snaps back to the present as she approaches the now adult Treant.

"Greetings, Lady Vel`Dynn. Have you decided upon a name for me?" Inquired the Treant.

"I have." Replied the Knight of Shadow. D`Narr pulls a small orb from one of her bags. "This is a gift from the Circle of the Nine. It will grant you the memories and power of your sire up to the time of his last visit to the Circle."

"How did you get such and item? Surely they would not have just handed this to you."

"My sister acquired it through a close friend of hers who is on the council."

"Very well then. You have watched over me all this time."

"This orb will also give you your name. It seems fitting that you should be named after your sire." D`Narr hands the orb to the Treant and watches as the orb glows brightly for a few moments and then fades away. "You should go to the Circle and make a new orb right away to preserve the memories that you now have Xannuusus."

"Thank you Lady Vel`Dynn." The treant makes a few gestures and it's form change to that of an Elddar`Dal. "Be well Dark Lady."

"You also Xannuusus."

Xannuusus opens a portal and steps through. D`Narr walks back to her mount and rides back to Neriak turning names over in her head of various Ilharn of some of the great houses trying to decide who should be the father of her daughter.

Jetamio had often watched from a distance. At first it had been mistrust of the Shadow Knight, but when she found that she was not shirking her duties she came simply to check upon the young treant for other reasons. She was not sure how it would hold up under the care of a non-druid, especially one like D'Nar.

Over the time of its growth, she had witnessed a slight change in the Knight. She almost believed that D'Nar actually cared about the Treant, but Jetamio would never shame her by telling anyone. It made her think though. She had not heard of any mate associated with her, yet she was not without beauty. She knew that Mogadeche's son Ultriin should be adult by now, though he would probably be more preoccupied with scheming on how to take Tajer's place as heir than possible mates.

Smiling to herself, she turned away from the scene and walked off into the sunset.

D`Narr stopped at Gill-Alani to return the talisman to P`Nala so she could put it back in Willanaome's Library but found that her Sister had gone to House Illumine to assist with restorations there following the previous attack by Verin Vharc. Lady Alrienne took the talisman for safe keeping until P`Nala or Willanaome returned. The ride through Nektulos Forest was uneventful and D`Narr was still mulling over who she would mate with.

Mogadeche, though the greatest of the Ilharns, was Sanguine definitely out of the question.
Valdaven was a possible candidate though his House was located in Kithicor and seemed to have an unhealthy view of his standing perhaps that instability was not genetic.
Several other names came to mind as well but they were too weak to be considered by the Lady Knight.
Then there was her paramour, Vuzafein but he was not of noble blood, at least not to her knowledge or his. If only R`Lith were still alive... He would be able to advise her.

Alrienne watches as the Dark Lady rides out of the gate. She seems to be rather distracted by thoughts. Alrienne takes the Talisman to the House Library and locks it away inside a small box.

Willanaome had recently returned from the Northlands to assist with the rebuilding of House Illumine after it's destruction by the hands of House Verin Vharc's people. P`Nala went with her with Alrienne's blessing. It had been a few days since her husband's parents had been by to coordinate the deliver of the supply wagons that had arrived from Fayedwer. King Tearis Thex had sent enough goods to keep the families affected by the attack clothed and fed through winter. The Halflings of Rivervale had also sent much foodstuffs as well. The wagons had left and gone through Kithicor and Gilliadson and Sineliniel left shortly afterward.

Vuzafein was not like most other Teir`Dal that D'Narr knew. He was a follower of Bristlebane and seemed to have more joy in living than most of her other peers. He always knew how to bring a smile to her face. In public, he treated her with the respect that she was due and in private he made her feel desired and wanted. She would never subject him to the kind of treatment that the males of her House were given by taking him through the Dro`Valm Ceremony and making him a part of her House. She would keep him as a mrannd`ssinss.

The Gates of Neriak near and she nods to the guards as she enters. The Lady Shadow Knight dismisses her mount and quietly makes her way through the noisy streets of the Foreign Quarter and the Commons to her House in the Third Gate District. The guards at the door inform her of the recent demise of High Priestess Alexandra at the hands of a pair of Pales who stormed into Neriak by force.

"Well she was one who thought her position much higher than she was accorded and was always trying to usurp the authority of Queen Christanos. I doubt the Queen will have me hunt down these two Pales."

No notice from the Queen awaits her when she enters her study so D`Narr strips off her armor and heads to her bath. D`Narr contemplates sending for Vuzafein but decides that she would sleep alone tonight...
