The Brumal Festival

(( Hi everyone! Just posting this for Nasorin! Hope to see you all there!
))
The wind ceases and your skin prickles as the temperature plummets mercilessly. Gusts from the North assault you, and stinging sleet is formed from the remaining moisture in the air. A shivering Gnome and a pale, blustery Dwarf stumble to the ground amidst an eruption of snow from nowhere in particular. The shorter of the two wears a blue robe tightly bound and emblazoned with icy runes, while the other is clad in dented velium. The flurries float to the ground and begin to melt.
The Dwarf is the first to rise, shaking the powdery stuff off of himself vigorously, like a dog might shake off water. His face is mostly obscured by a thick beard packed with snow, but the skin that shows through is a bluish hue. He reaches over and picks up the Gnome with one arm, standing the shaky creature upright. The Dwarf looks up at you importantly, jabbing his shorter companion impatiently with an elbow.
Apparently still numb enough to not notice the unsubtle nudge from the Coldain Dwarf accompanying him, the Wizard draws out a polished oaken case. When he opens the lid, a stack of hand-painted cards are visible, one of which he removes to hand to you with a less-than-steady hand. On the front of the card is the depiction of a snowy landscape dotted with trees. A bonfire burns in the distance, beside two small stone buildings. Behind them is a great bridge sculpted from solid ice, extending off towards the horizon over churning seas that reflect the infinite multitude of stars found in the velvety sky.
The Gnome bows and looks to the Dwarf, who places a hand on the Wizard's shoulder. With a quick nod to you, they both disappear into another, lesser blast of sleet and snow. Turning the card over reveals a handwritten message:
Greetings once again, my friends and fellow Norrathians. It is with great pride that I announce the Brumal Festival - the third of its kind. The celebration is set for the moon's zenith on the sixth eve of the second month, along the Eastern coast of the frozen continent of Velious. This festival shall consist of many similar events as those in its Autumnal and Vernal predecessors, but for those of you who have never before attended, those events will specifically be as follows:
We will begin the evening, as all good parties should, with food, drink, and fireworks. Shortly thereafter, the Thousand Keys event will commence. A Scavenger Hunt will follow, and then we will settle down with some warm drinks for the much-anticipated Riddles. Once the last riddle has been solved, a game of Hide and Seek will take place, and the final event will be underway. The last event planned for the evening is a great race across the tundra of Velious, and the Brumal Festival will end at its finish.
Previous festivals have always exceeded their time limit and never have I been able to give away as much as was generously donated! This means that although this is the first official announcement of the festival, we have much to begin with already. And I thank you. Naturally, if any other donations find their way to me, I will see to it that they are rolled into the grand purses for these events. I am personally funding a Volunteer Pot, which will be randomly distributed to the lucky winners who have exempted their participation in at least one event to aid in its smooth execution.

((To translate, the festival will be held on Saturday, February 6th, at the first game-time midnight after 12:00pm (noon) CST. This gives latecomers a few minutes' grace and it improves the roleplay aspect of the party to be on Norrath's time. Since this festival is slightly smaller than its predecessors, less is necessary in the way of prizes and purses, but I still have an abundance of necessity for volunteers. Please send me an EQ-mail or contact me in-game if you are willing to take one of the volunteer slots. Naturally, I will give you your choice out of what is available. Looking forward to seeing you there!))
