neutral:grounds

Post by Stormfollower »

To all members of the candles in the darkness alliance I Stormfollower Wolfheart send greetings. Know that I have made arrangements that a place in the astral realm be set aside so that good and evil may meet to discuss terms.((Channel neutral:grounds will be open whenever possible by either side)) It is my great hope that some accord may be reached here. the plan is fraught with dangers of treachery and deciet but it is my beleif that the time has come to meet this conflict head on with eyes wide open so to speak. Those who are able to come of thier own dicipline are encouraged to do so as a show of solidarity, those who are undiciplined in such matters may find the crystal pools of the sacred aspen grove will act as a handy conduit to this realm and are encouraged to take some with them in order that thier voice may be added to what I am assuming will become a heated disscution place.
I have done this not out of disapointment with the alliance plans, nor out of spite or distain for its policies as some will say. No I have begun this meeting of minds because I love the alliance too much to see it destroyed. In the wake of infeltrations by some dark shadows I fear my actions as a representative of the alliance will do harm to our cause. I am sworn to ward this group and its friends not to destroy them.
Thus I have taken up a astral abode in order to facilitate this comunion with the damned. treaties have been made with the denizenzs therein that we be left un molested while we discuss our apposed ideologies.
Perhaps one day, should we all step back from the brink of the abyss, we or our children may desert this hall of projection to once more be at peace in our minds. But untill that day it is my hope that this place will serve to deflect some of the ifiltrators away from this place I love so dearly

The Druid stands by her husband's side in unity. She smiles at him, her pride of him evident.

As for myself and my house, we believe this is a good thing. We may well need the assistance of our darker brethren to defeat the minions of discord.

I agree with Master Stormfollowers idea wholeheartedly! I have no desire to destroy the alliance since I have some "friends" who are members who have given my Sister a home to keep her safe from those of my people who would seek her harm because of my actions as well as her stance of leaning more toward the ideals that are not in the best interest of the Queen and myself. I considered following her along her path but have decided against such a course of action since it would have meant the end of one of the last three Matriarchal houses of Neriak's Third Gate and probably would have brought about the execution of our Matron Mother, an act that I cannot allow to happen. My Sister is free to follow her chosen destiny to whatever conclusion it may reach, knowing that I will be there to stand beside her if ever the need should arise. This place will allow for timely communication between us without distubing the balance. I will therefore never darken the doorway of the Alliance Hall again. Thank you Master Stormfollower for making this place. Perhaps one day you will find that we Teir`Dal are not really evil... just different.

In this astral place at a time last night we came to terms Mogadecghe and I. On the dawning of the new moon tomorrow evening grave combat in the arena off lake Rathtear will display. It is there I will fight with him. Though I dont know what the outcome will be I ask no one step in! This is fight of honour. Let know one furrow asunder the level ground this allows us. Untill such time as this combat occurs I will be at the aspen grove seeking the council of its many branches.

A Good Idea

Post by Crikkit Hixx »

Dear Lord Stormfollower,

I think your idea for a Neutral Ground is a fine one. While the Alliance meetings should remain unadulterated by the intrusions of neutrality (if there is such a thing) and out and out evil, we as members are part of Norrath for good and for bad, and at times need to speak with those who follow darker paths.

Lady Tajer, Lady P'nala, and Lady D'narr are good examples of those who walk in shadow, and shadows have some kinship with the light. No one, not even the Gods are purely evil or solely good. So some common ground may sometimes be found -when the participants are willing-.

My friend, Neutral Ground is a wonderful idea, but it's neutrality needs to be guarded. Or it will become a vehicle to be abused by the evil ones, a place to take advantage of those who come in peace and in good faith.

Mogadeche's filth proved today they do not desire neutrality or a truce. Lord Storm, you met Mogadeche in fair and honest combat. That did not win their respect, and I submit to you that nothing will. Cast them from the Neutral Grounds, or it will become a cess pit.

The forces of light are not beggars to grovel and plead for an alliance with evil at all cost of dignity and the very values we hold dear. If they will not meet us half way, then let us remain enemies until the bitter end.

But for those rare and exceptional individuals, D'narr, Rakana, Yolanir, and others who will meet us in good faith, keep Neutral Ground open, I beg of you.

Well, that is what I have been thinking, anyway.

May Karana bless you twice over for the noble vision you have.

From the desk of Gilliadson:

Lady P`Nala does not walk in shadow any longer. She has taken the path of light and has defected from her people. The only one she keeps ties with is her Sister, D`Nar (D`Narr). She has built up her standings with The Temple of Life and the Knights of Thunder in Qeynos as well as the Temple of Marr and the Hall of Truth in Freeport.

The Sisters balance each other and do work together despite their differences. D`Nar holds respect for many including Stormfollower, Gilliadson, Queen Christanos and Crikkit to name a few but only has love for one person, her sister. You can blame Myrikel for bringing that to the surface in her.

Be not deceived, to threaten or harm one is to incur the wrath of the other. Though idealogically different, they are united. Only members of the Alliance know the bond between these two ladies and this secret is entrusted to us all to keep until the day they decide to reveal it.

Thank you for all your encouraging words, as many of you know by now I fought and lost against Mogadeche. But in so doing I have learned much about his nature. And though I did incure the derrision of his foul court after the match, I feel that the grounds thier must still be kept open for this place to be of any benefit to us. After all it was by this channel that I was able to find out some very fine information about one of his followers.
The one called Yurik is a slave, and though this may not suprise those of you who know the ways of the dark elves it may suprise you to know he called out to me in my mind, he offerd to aid me in this fiight with Mogadeshe but became quickly silent with fear. A cry for help must surely be answered.
Though I have many other reasons for creating this dark meeting place in the astral ether, let Yurik be the brightest gem in our search for rewards from it. Alas poor Yurik... We must save him from his captors! Say not a word of this friends, for his life must not be made the harder by any slip that may alert his foul masters to our knowledge.

"Yurik...I have not heard this name before. Tajer never mentioned him and I have not really spoken at length with the Assassin."

She looks at Stormfollower.

"You know more about her than any of us, what part does Xar'zith Maral play in all this?"

If anyone can save this poor man it will be Xarzith. My only hope is that she can do it without implicating herself. Perhaps once others see that there is a way out there will be more attempts to contact us for help.

One soul at a time is not too slow, even if it takes a thousand years the light will grow and encompas all.

((He was afk after Xarzith spoke with Storm so I sent him an in game email...))

In deathly silence she enters the dungeon, closing the door again behind her. She carries only a candle for light, more for his benefit than her own. As she draws near him she deliberately makes a noise so as to not startle him with her face a mere foot from his face. She raises the candle to better study him, taking note of the broken nose, the blood both fresh and dried. She lifts her other hand as though to touch him but stops a mere inch from his face. Her pale blue eyes sparkle in concentration as an icey aura envelopes her hand, numbing the pain in his face. It is the best she can do for she has no healing gift. After a moment she speaks ever so softly, only just audible for she knows not who else mught be down here, lurking in the shadows.

"Yurik..." her voice is soft like the snow on a winters morn. She touches him barely under his chin, making him look at her. Her touch is cold, but at the same time alive...it is not the touch of the undead. Her icey gaze pierces deep into him as though searching for something. "I have to know I can trust you Yurik. I can save you, but I have to know you will not betray me." She looks right into his eyes, her own gaze hardening slightly. "If you betray me I will kill you myself and it will not be pleasant."

She lowers her hand again, her cold touch leaving his chin. She still holds the candle up to see his face as she awaits his answer.

He answered...

Her cool touch wakes him from the silence he has known for over a week now. The only thing he can make out is two pools of blue in the darkness. He is for the most part out of sorts, and he wonders whether he is seeing things until her touch confirms her presence. As the healing touch courses through his face and relieves some of the pain, he closes his eyes and listens to her voice call to him in the darkness. After she has spoken there is silence....moments later he responds in a near whisper, not wishing to alarm the guards and seal this one's doom.

I do not know who you are.. but your offer is generous. I cannot betray my master, however, or Tamaii.

((So she did try, but she won't endanger herself unless she is certain she can get away with it. Playing a predominately neutral character is quite hard you know! It's quite challenging trying to keep a perfect balance between the two factions she is involved with without getting in trouble lol))
