((I work evenings. And when I'm not working, I usually end up working Thursdays I'm in a Poker league, thats my only definate day off. Any time during the day is fine though))
Tajer scowled. That had not been a question she had forseen and she wasn't pleased at the reminder of her predicament. She made no adverse movement though.
"I don't know." She answered flatly, but truthfully. She really didn't know where any of them were, or even if they still lived. She was pretty sure this woman was unlikely to believe her though, and in a way she couldn't blame her. Those Tajer had known had often banded together.
D`Narr studied the Sanguine as she answered for any indication that her answer was false. Finding no indication, the Lady Knight went with her instinct.
"You seem to have some connection with some members of the Alliance. We seem to have some common ground there. Perhaps you may have some questions as well. If I put my bow away, can I trust that we can continue this conversation peacefully as more willing participants?"
As a token of her sincerity, D`Narr loosened her pull on the bowstring a little and lowered her bow just a little off its original mark but kept her eyes fixed on Sanguine's.
((I am off Monday so that would be a good time for both of us then.))
"If I were going to kill you, I would have done so already. As for connections... my kin are there."
She hops of her perch and reaches for a basket that was sitting on the ground. She lifts it onto the table she had just been sitting on, and removes two glasses and a bottle filled with a dark liquid.
"If we are to talk, perhaps you might like a drink?" she asks as she pours herself a glass.
"I suppose the attempt would have been made nonetheless." D`Narr slings her bow over her back and puts the arrow in her quiver. "Your particular species of vampire is a bit different from most that I have encountered in Mistmoore's Castle and in The Tenebrous Mountains of Luclin. Those seem to be more like animals, only knowing the thirst for blood and little else. Which was what I originally based my assumptions of your species upon. While I have since discovered that those assumptions were erroneous, I still considered your species to be quite dangerous hence my extreme caution in approaching you. I will, however, pass on the drink for now as I do not drink much or very often."
D`Narr takes a seat on the opposite side of the table.
"I too have family in the alliance so it seems we have a bit of common ground to start with despite our opposing views of each other."
"I have never opposed you directly. I do not like the fact that you hunt me, but we are very alike. I am still Tier'Dal, I am just different too. But I still think like one... you want to protect our people, from creatures like me."
She takes a sip from her glass before she continues.
"As for the differences between types of vampire, you are correct. We ignore those of the Catacombs and of Mistmoore Castle mostly, for they are of our blood... children of Mistmoore. If they decide to give us trouble, we kill them. They are of little consequence to us. The Coterie of Luclin however, are the sworn enemies of ours. Mogadeche hates them with a passion, and kills them with relish. I do not know why though...it has just always been that way. And then there is our kind...the Sanguine."
"Most would disagree, particularly Stormfollower, but I can't think of another way to phrase it. We are like vampires with souls...perhaps not a good soul, but a soul nonetheless. We remember who we are, we hate, we feel anger, happiness, rage, we know compassion...sometimes even love. We know right from wrong, even if we do wrong anyway. We can control our thirst to the point where we do not need to kill to feed. But we still benefit from our abilities. Perhaps the Mistmoorians have similar abilities, but simply do not have the wits about them to use them. They know only hunger."
She pauses long enough for D'Nar to digest the imformation.
"Are we a bane to the Tier'Dal? Perhaps, in most peoples view. But remember this...Mayong was born Tier'Dal...is not natural for him to want to share what he considers a Gift with his own kind? Do we worship him? Some do, some do not. I personally do not. Yet in Sanguine bloodlines, he is my great-grandfather. But he is not a god...he tried, even succeeded for a while, but he fell. I do not worship him, my god is Innoruuk."
D`Narr paused for a moment taking in the information Tajer had given her...
"At first I hunted you with the intent of having you join the others I had hunted. More recently, the hunt has changed to more of a curiosity. I have watched your kind for some time and as I said I noticed the differences. I became more curious than intent on destruction. My sister had a few conversations with Mogadeche before he and the rest of your people disappeared. What she told me from those conversations aroused my curiosity. In the past there were some of your Sanguine who apparently could not control their thirst. They have obviously given your line a bad name which is why the Queen put me on the hunt. There have obviously been no deaths from anyone feeding in the city for quite some time."
D`Narr looked squarely into Tajer's eyes for a few moments.
"Love... Such a rarity among our people... It holds a strange power over those who experience it... Tell me, have you experienced it??"
